Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver has long been on our list of “must-see” venues. By all accounts it is one of the most beautiful concert venues in the United States. After seeing it for the first time, we can say that the stunning beauty lived up to the hype. It was only matched by the incredible feeling we both had while watching the show there.
We weren’t just seeing Red Rocks for the first time, we were watching our friend Dale Spollett perform live for the first time. Dale sang lead vocals as part of the live band performing with GRiZ last night, and that performance is what finally brought us to Red Rocks. Dale absolutely owned the stage of the breathtaking venue. We were blown away by the performance and so happy for our friend.
After the show, we both agreed that Red Rocks has ascended to the top of our list of venues. Throughout our time in Denver we mentioned going to Red Rocks and seemingly everyone had a wonderful story to share about the place. The amphitheater itself sits between two giant red rocks jutting towards each other, giving the venue it’s name.
Throughout the show we’d find ourselves glancing back at the gorgeous geography. No matter where you live, you should keep an eye on the Red Rocks calendar and visit when a band you love is playing. The experience is well worth the journey.
